You will find this sand hill a stone's throw from the parking lot at the Doornse gat. A wonderful challenge for every walker and runner who wants to include something extra in their training. Every year Devil's Trails organizes the Utrechtse Heuvelrug trail with different distances (https://devilsrail.nl/utrechtse-heuvelrug/). At the bottom of this sand hill are the start and finish.

1월 19, 2023, Stenen Tafel van Wijk bij Duurstede
The stone table here was placed in 1931 and used to be a popular break for walkers and visitors. The wrapper consists of a millstone that comes from a mill in Wijk bij Duurstede. The mill was an important part of the community and was used to grind grain for the local farmers. The table is now a historical monument that recalls the rich history of the region. A little further on you can see an old concrete drinking trough lying under the beeches. This drinking trough was once built for wildlife, so that animals in the area had a place to drink. This is a fine example of how nature and human society live in harmony here. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings here and learn something about the history of the place at the same time.
