Really nice food

The monastery is still as beautiful and interesting today as it was over 30 years ago. We are still as enthusiastic as ever.

The monastery is free to enter and walk around. There is a museum for €5 entry (whether it’s worth it or not, depends on how much you enjoy ancient religious items). Toilets inside the monastery are also free.

The monastery is definitely worth a visit! It is located in a very remote region of the Troodos Mountains at 1,318 meters. The interior of the church and the ornate walls of the surrounding gallery on the first floor are unique! The monastery is known for its zivania, the typical Cypriot liquor. The "village" Troodos does not actually exist. It is a cluster of souvenir shops, restaurants and two hotels at the top of the pass between Limassol and Nicosia. As a popular destination for Cypriots and tourists, it is usually crowded on weekends. Troodos is also the starting point for beautiful, signposted trekking tours.
