You should not miss this stretch of road. A straight piece of asphalt is draped here over five large hills. An asphalt 'sine wave' stretches out amid the majestic mountain landscape of Jotunheimen, with a mighty glacier in the background.

Here you will find bike rental (self-service) to cycle the 7.5 km to the Glitterheim hut by bike (and possibly a trailer).

Hosted DNT hut with overnight stay, breakfast, lunch and hot showers. Starting point for summit tours to Glittertind or as a stop on tours through Jotunheimen. The possibility of renting mountain bikes for NOK 100 both at the parking lot and at the hut is great, so that you can cover the approx. 7.5 km between the parking lot and the hut.

From here it's about 7.5 km to the DNT hut Glitterheim. At the parking lot there are MTBs that can be rented for the route for 100 NOK (pay at the hut, an additional 75 NOK for a trailer).

Sognefjellshytta is located right on the FV55 scenic route at the highest point of Sognefjell at 1,400 meters above sea level. It is a popular training location for ski associations and, since the new lounge between the two traditional buildings was completed in 2015, it is also a great place for a coffee break. The architecture of the connecting building is a beautiful combination of wood and glass, which spreads the light throughout the space. For more information, see: http://www.sognefjellet.no/.
