At the beginning of July 2025, the oxbow lakes will be almost completely dry, you can easily cross them "dry-legged" with a bicycle under your arm.

One of several "ferry" crossings of this type on the Waniewo-Śliwno footbridge. Exciting! Self-service. Look for a chain attached to the footbridge on one side and to the jetty on the other. Pull the jetty towards you and get on. Then use the second chain from the water side to pull the jetty to the other side. Definitely the biggest attraction of this place!

Very nicely laid out crossing with some information and idyllic views of the Narew. When the water level is low (as was apparently the case when I visited at the end of May), however, crossing with bicycles is only recommended to a limited extent. A total of 4 ferries of different lengths separate one bank from the other. Although these have 3 possible entrances for different water levels, in my case they were still so much higher than the ferry that it was almost impossible to lift a bike with luggage on and off the ferry. You should avoid the crossing, especially with heavy bikes (e-bikes) or trekking bikes with panniers, otherwise it can quickly become very wet.
