A Via Transilvanica milestone in the beautiful village of Ineleț. This 1,400 km path connects Putna, in northern romania with Drobeta-Turnu Severin.

At the exit of Cerna Sat, a small town in the Cernei Valley, the Cerna River has carved a spectacular landscape into the limestone walls of the Mehedinti Mountains, with vertical walls reaching 100 m in height, overhangs and gorges of 4 to 6 meters ascending to the Corcoaiia Gorges.

A small path leads here from the actual path, which is not marked in komoot. This place is perfect for a short break by the lake. It is not clear whether you can actually camp here, as there are hardly any flat areas. But it is definitely suitable for accessing the lake with a boat, or for exiting.

Unfortunately nothing is being renovated here at the moment. It's falling into disrepair more and more. It's a shame about the beautiful buildings. But I also doubt that they could be operated economically.

The first written mentions of the Baths of Hercules come from the year 153 AD, i.e. from Roman times. Successively under Hungarian, Ottoman and then Austro-Hungarian rule, the Hercules Baths experienced unprecedented development in the 19th century when, in addition to its primary purpose as a medical treatment center, it also became a cultural and leisure facility. The settlement is visited by major figures of the time, including Emperor Franz Josef, who described the Hercules Baths as “the most beautiful health resort on the continent” while his wife, Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sissi, owned an estate in the city, Vila Elisabeta .
