A very beautiful viewpoint (to the south from the Sfäntis to the Central Swiss Alps; to the north from the Belvedere towards Lake Zurich). Good restaurant (please note the opening hours).

This small wayside chapel is also called Langeneggchappeli and is located on the path from Raten to Gottschalkenberg.

It's nice that the restaurant is heated and that they have almond croissants and cold Ovomaltine. That gives me renewed energy for the descent to the saddle.

Climbing up isn't as bad as it looks, even when it's frozen and has some snow.

I come here very often because it's a bit further away than the large barbecue area at Schattwäldli. Up here you have peace and quiet and a better view of Rigi and Pilatus. There are two fire pits, two very large wooden tables with benches, plenty of firewood, two loungers, and a swing.
