@Bruno Braun: It is true that in Amsterdam, in the early days of bike sharing in the 1960s, white bicycles were distributed for free use. However, this has nothing to do with the completely white-painted bicycles that can be seen today (as in this case). As others have already noted, the bicycle here is also a ghost bike for a cyclist who died at this spot. Ghost bikes are therefore both a memorial and a stimulus for the infrastructure to be better and safer.

This is a so-called ghost bike and it was put up because unfortunately a person on a bicycle was run over by a person in a car.

This seems to me to be a ghost wheel/monument wheel. They are set up at the places where a cyclist has died in an accident. There was a fatal accident here in 2020, maybe that's why it's there.

If I remember correctly, there was a time when everyone was allowed to use a white bike just like that. It was common knowledge. That was probably in Amsterdam.

Via the Pfinzspülkanal, the water from the Pfinz is used to flush the Karlsruhe sewer system. The water is fed to the Landgraben via the Tiefentalgraben and the Pfinzspülkanal.
