Directly before the junction in the direction of Everstorf on the right-hand side is a 2.45 m high Mordwange made of Gotland limestone; also known as the stone of atonement. Atonement stones are medieval memorial stones that were placed in places where a murder once occurred. Everstorf's atonement is the murder of Ludecke Mozelleburch. He was killed and robbed on June 22nd. Relatives then probably had the stone set up at the scene of the crime some time later. To protect the stone from further erosion processes, a roof was built over it.
