The Schwedenlöcher (Swedish Holes) in Saxon Switzerland have approximately 700 steps. The hiking trail leads through a romantic rocky gorge, climbing a height difference of 160 meters. The Schwedenlöcher got their name during the Thirty Years' War, when residents of neighboring villages hid here with their belongings from the Swedes.

The Bastei Viewpoint is arguably one of the most famous vantage points in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The panoramic view extends from the holiday resort of Wehlen in the Elbe Valley, over the Rauenstein, Königstein, and Lilienstein mountains, and far into the Upper Saxon Switzerland.
