The site of today's Peterspark (with a large children's playground) used to be the site of St. Peter's Church and a cemetery. Today, there are still numerous historical tombs to admire there. "The Peterskirche and its cemetery were the religious center of the city for a long time. The church was demolished in 1819. All that remained was the bell. The bell still exudes a nostalgic flair today when it rings every 15 minutes. It is located on the roof of the old town hall [= tourist office], in the middle of the pedestrian zone. A few years later, the cemetery was closed [in 1874] and the park was created. [...] Right in the center of the park is a war memorial for the fallen [in 1851] members of the former imperial French army [...] that is hard to miss. After the Second World War, the park was redesigned. [...] The park also includes the Roman coffin from the 'Röthe' district and a stone coffin from Asselheim."
