A craft guild tree shows the guild symbols of certain guilds in the respective location or region. On the one hand, it serves to preserve traditions and, on the other hand, to promote the image of the respective craft. Guild trees were first erected in Westphalia at the end of the 16th century. The guild tree in Kilb was erected in 1988 by the Rural Training Institute and sponsored by the people of Kilb. The 130-year-old larch is 22 meters high, and the guild boards, which document a lively economic life, were originally designed by Hilde Balaskovits from Kilb. It was completely renovated in 2016. In the course of this renovation, the old boards were replaced with aluminum boards.
