Unfortunately, the view from here is no longer there, everything is overgrown. So it makes sense to take the "path" directly along the shore to get a nice view.

Beautiful direct view of the Schwarzenbach Dam from this bench. With its idyllic location, surrounded by the Black Forest mountains, the lake is a popular destination in both summer and winter for boating, hiking, biking, and swimming. The descent is worthwhile because this is the only way to feel the mightiness of the dam wall.

Be careful when it is wet, the path is quite slippery, but really worthwhile.

Be sure to walk the path on the dry side of the dam. Only here do the huge dimensions really come into their own.
