Zaber estuary

Nice bridge for a short break

Perfectly flat, super surface in the meadows between the Neckar and the Neckar Canal. Ideal for speeding up and doing intervals, but can also be crossed in leisurely mode.

Today I picked up Stefan Korthaus' wonderful extra virgin olive oil, who harvested, washed, pressed and transported his olive oil home himself in northern Greece. I'm including a few pictures of the harvest and the adventurous journey (3,700 km) here.

With the increasing size of ships and the subsequent upgrading of the Neckar for 135-meter ships up to the port of Heilbronn, the required safety distances between ships meeting each other and between ships and the bank can no longer be maintained in the short term. The bank is already subject to greater stress and is therefore being damaged. The resulting erosion impairs the stability of the embankment and the side dam. Measures to secure the left bank of the side canal are therefore urgently required.

Beautiful, quiet, relatively flat climb with little elevation gain. From Sternenfels it is steeper and shorter, but with a long descent towards Häfnerhaslach. Very good road surface.

Kneipp pool and arm bath at the entrance to Zaberfeld directly on the Zaber. In addition, the letters "Wasserwelt Zaberfeld" are presented in a visually appealing way.

The town hall in the middle of Oedheim, near the church, was the center of the community for centuries. Today it is assumed that it was the administrative building of the Teutonic Order. Through redesign, renovation and additions according to the motto "history meets modernity", the pretty half-timbered house is now used as the town hall.
