Date trees can grow up to 30 meters (100 feet). Slow-growing, some have been known to live up to 100 years. They need dry, arid conditions and plenty of water to withstand the intense heat.

Also Called Stewart Mountain and Stewart Peak, it is spotted with Precambrian and Paleozoic dolomite, giving it an attractive variety of colors. Because limestone is slightly soluble in rainwater, it tends to erode into natural caves and arches. You get great views of the Nopah Range to the south.

Dug out of the solidified volcanic ash, This “homes” were made by silver miners. It's unsure when they were first constructed, but after the miners left, they continued to be used until the 1970s, when they were mostly abandoned.

An excellent hike is for the short winter days, if you don't want to start too early in the morning, with an elevation of 2600 feet (ca. 792 meters). On your way you up will find some fun little dry waterfalls to climb on.

You will be able to see a beautiful rocky landscape that surrounds the small town of Shoshone. With lots of bushes and other small plant life, it's not a path with much shade. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen.

A perfect scene, where you can appreciate the mountains and a beautiful stream in the background. Occasional storms feed Amargosa River through these streams, providing a brief oasis for plants and animals.

Upon reaching the top you will find an impressive panoramic view of mountains and valleys! You can also find works of art of erosion, perfect for excellent photographs.

At this point you meet with a beautiful view of the mountains, excellent inspiration to continue all the way to the top to see the view from a different perspective.
