The Ennepetalsperre is a drinking water dam in North Rhine-Westphalia, whose gravity dam was built between 1902 and 1904. On the north-western edge of the Sauerland at the transition to the Ruhr area, it dams the Ennepe, a tributary of the Volme, about ten kilometers south of Hagen. In addition to seven other dams, the Ennepe, as it is also known for short, now belongs to the Ruhrverband in Essen, which is responsible for regulating the water in the Ruhr.

It is quite difficult to walk around the dam, as one side is blocked with a few gates and gates, the other side is a paved road. More suitable for cyclists.
