Recently, we had 30°C in Fürstenfeld, and there's a great outdoor pool here. According to the inscription, the Marian Column or Women's Column was donated by the Hartberg ruler Maria Countess von Paar (1657–1682) and her daughter Maria Anna Countess von Talmberg and her husband Rudolph Count von Talmberg. The base bears the coats of arms of the Paar and Talmberg families, dated 1675.

Hartberg has a beautiful old town with a special flair. For the children there is/was a small free ice skating rink on the main square and for us adults there was a super friendly punch stand.

The road over the Geschriebenstein is the highest pass in Burgenland. The northern ascent from Lockenhaus is subjectively more beautiful, with a steep start, but then it is easy and evenly rideable. The asphalt is good, there is usually little traffic, and the descent to Rechnitz allows for high speeds - but be careful of the steep passage before entering the town. There are cafés in Lockenhaus and Rechnitz for a short break.
