The Brněnská přehrada (German: Brno dam) is a dam and reservoir in the Czech Republic. It is eight kilometers northwest of Brno city center and dams the Svratka. The Svratka (German Schwarzach) is a left tributary of the Thaya.

The concrete gravity dam of the Brno Reservoir or in the Pryglu hantec reaches 120 m. Inside is the Kníničky hydroelectric power plant. The dam was built at the end of the 1930s. At first it served as a source of drinking water, currently its purpose is recreational. The Ignis Brunensis fireworks are held every year on the surface of the dam.

The limestone memorial to the fallen of the First World War first stood at the bell tower in the original village of Kníničky, which was flooded in 1940 by the Brno Dam. On the monument lies a sculpture of a mourning Czech lion, which looks at the place where the village used to be. The names of fallen citizens are written on the marble slab. Add a photo
