Well-suited for gravel and mountain biking, but a bit bumpy and with brittle asphalt. But quiet and scenic.

From the otherwise wooded nature, you suddenly find yourself in a completely different world. Admittedly, winter adorns the lake with a unique light that is not apparent in summer.

Well-developed cycle path around the Pressnitz Dam

It remains to be seen whether the dam itself is a super highlight. But the fact is: The cycle route that leads through here is really beautiful! It is mostly paved, so you can make good progress. However, it is closed to cars and you can enjoy the wonderful tranquility. It was raining when I was here, which is probably why it was particularly quiet. :)

Cycle path along the east bank of the Preßnitz dam (Vodní nádrž Přísečnice) and further along the Ore Mountain ridge in the direction of the B174 / R7 (near the Reitzenhain - Hora Svatého Šebestiána border crossing); the surface sometimes takes a little getting used to, but mostly good;

Not far (to the south) of the municipality of Christophhammer (Kryštofovy Hamry) is the dam wall of the Preßnitztalsperre (Vodní nádrž Přísečnice), which serves to supply drinking water to North Bohemia; Built between 1970 and 1976 to dam up the Preßnitzbach, this made it necessary to devastate the mining town of Preßnitz (Přísečnice) and the neighboring towns of Reischdorf (Rusová) and Dörnsdorf (Dolina); On the left bank, the moderately busy connecting road between Vejprty (Weipert) and Klášterec nad Ohří (Klösterle an der Eger) or Kadaň (Kaaden); more recommended is the quieter, paved bike path along the right bank of the reservoir;
