This is a onetime opportunity to cycle a few kilometers on the beach, truly outstanding experience 😎☀️ You need to catch the right tide though. Won’t be as easy with high tide coming in. Sand is firm and solid when you cycle on low tide.

Nelson is considered the birthplace of New Zealand rugby, as the first game on New Zealand soil was played here in 1870.

Really cool memorial with a bunch of great information - start at the statue at the top. About 50m off the Great Taste bike trail and worth a quick look. Bench and rubbish bin nearby.
