The cycle path from Sopron to Fertőrákos leads directly past the lake.

At approximately 61 meters, the Tustorny, or Fire Tower, is the tallest building in the picturesque town of Sopron. It was built on Roman foundations, while the square ground floor, with two-meter-thick walls, dates back to the 12th century.

The parish already existed in the Middle Ages. The church was first mentioned in documents in 1419. The current building dates from the 18th century. It was restored in 1826. The church was extended in 1928, restored in 1956 and extended and rebuilt again in 1973/74.

The Helenenschacht colony is located in the Ödenburger Mountains, which separates northern Burgenland from central Burgenland. The place is an old coal mining settlement and is located on the northern edge of the municipality of Ritzing, high up on the mountain directly on the Austrian-Hungarian border. Sealed off by the Iron Curtain until the end of the 1980s, Helenenschacht is now just a stone's throw from the Hungarian sister mine, Brennbergbánya, and down to Sopron / Ödenburg.

From a geological point of view, the mining in Ritzing belongs to the formerly important Brennberg coalfield (Brennbergbánya) near Ödenburg, today Sopron, which was also of particular importance for the construction of the Wiener Neustadt Canal. The Deutschkreutz parish church is a church in which Anton Lehmden was involved in the design. Anton Lehmden provided all the designs for the large-scale renovation work in the church, the outdoor facilities with the staircase, the obelisk and the baroque gable, which is decorated with a mosaic by the artist "ARCHE NOAH".

The fire tower is the symbol of Sopron and rests on the remains of a Roman wall.
