St. Afra's Church stands on a slight rise in the center of Neckargerach and is recognizable from afar by its striking, light-colored tower. The building appears simple, yet inviting.

Its top floor houses the bell tower, in which five church bells hang, behind the sound arcades designed as biforia. The dials of the tower clock are housed in the gables above. An eight-sided pointed helmet rises above it. In 1968/70 the church was extended according to a design by Manfred Schmitt-Fiebig.
