Just before (or after) the dam is this hut, where you can also spend the night. It is the only good supply station up here. However, the café only opens from 12 noon and is closed on Mondays. This is something to keep in mind. There is an outside water tap for filling up water bottles. The toilets are only accessible with a code (as is the overnight accommodation) or during opening hours.

I followed this trail from the south on a gravel bike with about 12 kg of luggage. Thanks OIly for your tips! I passed by here at the beginning of August. Even without snow it was impossible to ride. I thought it would get easier after this bridge. That wasn't the case.

The place itself is beautiful. There is a beach and also a place to camp, which is only allowed in selected places in this area. I came here at the beginning of August with my gravel bike and about 12 kg of luggage (bikepacking). There was no snow left. But it was still hardly possible to ride. The hiking trail took me about 4 hours the following day.

This path leads through the dreamy landscape of Dalsida, a valley on the southwest flank of Dovrefjell. The path leads along several large reservoirs and offers breathtaking expanses in an almost undeveloped area. There are several entry points. The one chosen here follows the Auravegen, which branches off from the Romsdalsvegen. From there, it goes steeply uphill for about 400 meters. At the sharp left turn, you've almost made it. You'll then be rewarded and continue descending into the valley. The valley is easily accessible to tourists through a few holiday homes. Overnight stays in the valley are generally only permitted in designated places. One of them is at the end of the path. This is actually to be taken literally. The drivable path ends! If you don't want to turn back, you can follow a hiking trail about 7 km long, which is marked by red-colored stones.

Wooden bridge over the river. Although Komoot says this is a cycling trail, its very much a hiking trail. Crossed this section early June and majority of the route was covered in snow still.

Took me approx. 8 hours of hike a bike to reach Aursjødammen Dam (Then another 6 hours or so to drop down the valley the other side)

There are seven "Scandinavian miles" (approx. 70 kilometers) along the Aursjovegen to Sunndalsora. The road was specially created for the construction of this dam.
