As early as 1346, Cistercian monks built a small church on the site where the magnificent church now stands. During the Reformation, the previously Catholic parish became Protestant, with Neuhausen serving as the mother church for the surrounding villages. In 1624, the new Romanesque church, with approximately 1,500 seats, was consecrated. It was destroyed by a major fire in 1863 and rebuilt in the Gothic style by 1868, with approximately 1,000 seats. Notable works of art include the wooden altar with its painting, the ornate pulpit, and the Jehmlich organ. The church can be visited by appointment.
