An absolute dream with a magnificent view and excellent cuisine—small but perfectly formed. We stayed there overnight in August 2024 and are returning again this year with the whole family. An absolute insider tip and a super friendly staff. From here, you can reach not only the Mohar, but also the Astental Valley. A varied, easy hike along streams, moors, and waterfalls.

Lake Wangenitz is the largest mountain lake in the Austrian province of Carinthia. Beautifully situated in the Schober Group, it's a wonderful place for a break during your hike.

I would definitely recommend stopping there. The food and the hosts are a dream. Meat and dairy products all come from their own farm. You can also buy these at the hut itself.
