The Worm Gate was built from 1770 to 1772. "Under Elector Carl Theodor, Frankenthal experienced a period of prosperity that lasted until the French Revolution. The Elector renewed the city fortifications by expanding the circular wall and erecting new, magnificent gates resembling triumphal arches. [...] The northern gable displays Carl Theodor's coat of arms. On the south side [toward the pedestrian zone], allegorical depictions of War and Peace can be seen. The Old Town Hall is located in the center of Pfeddersheim. It was built between 1760 and 1770 and originally served as the Orb family's castle. Since the 19th century, the building has housed the town hall and administrative offices. The police are also currently located here. Above the entrance is the Pfeddersheim coat of arms, which identifies the town as a former Free Imperial City.

The cycle path near Worms is a real treat! You can cycle along here in a relaxed manner and enjoy the diversity of the surroundings. The route leads through beautiful meadow landscapes and wide fields, and there are always great views of the Rhine and the surrounding nature. It is a flat, well-developed route - ideal for a relaxed tour or for more speed if you want to step on the gas. It is particularly beautiful to experience the expanse of the Rhine Valley, with the wind in your face and the river always at your side. Perfect for a break on two wheels, without a lot of traffic and hustle and bustle.

The landscape has something calming about it, with fields and meadows on one side and the glittering Rhine on the other.

Every bend of the path reveals new perspectives - villages shimmering in the distance like forgotten dreams and the gentle embrace of nature protecting me from the cold of the world. Here, in this quiet idyll, I could linger for a moment and enjoy a sip of the local wine, realizing that life, like wine, can only be truly understood in the slow unfolding of its flavor. Rheinhessen - a place of duality, where joy and melancholy dance in balance.

The builder was Elector Carl Theodor, and it was built between 1770 and 1772. As can be seen above, permanent illumination was installed in 2007. Directly behind it is the "Casa Delicious", which can be highly recommended (Mediterranean restaurant with a great breakfast menu).
