길에서 나와 마주 오는 사람들이 방울뱀에 대해 경고해 주었습니다. 독이 있는 애리조나 검은방울뱀(Arizona black rattlesnake) 외에도 마주치고 싶지 않은 다른 동물들도 있으므로 항상 조심해야 합니다. 근처의 파인 플랫 캠프장(Pine Flat Campground)에서 숙박했습니다. 체크인 시 이 방울뱀, 독이 없는 애리조나 산킹스네이크(Arizona mountain kingsnake), 스컹크(skunk) 사진을 경고로 보여줍니다. 움직이지 않으면 알아보기 힘든 동물이 많기 때문에 서로 또는 다른 사람에게 경고하는 것이 좋습니다. 주차장 입구에서 자동 판매기에서 주차권을 구매하여 차량 대시보드에 놓아야 합니다.

Step back in time at Tortilla Flat. For two blocks along State Route 88 you'll find a number of historic buildings doing their best to serve as a set for a Western movie. This is a good spot to get a drink and something to eat before getting back on your bike.

Canyon Lake is a real oasis in the desert. The 950-acre lake sparkles under the Arizona sun like a jewel plucked from a crown, and here, at the marina, you'll find a general store, campground, and a chance to rent all sorts of watercraft or go for a cruise on the Dolly Steamboat.

Visit early, because the small parking area gets overcrowded these days. From the lower parking walk up to the top parking area and then on the gracefully designed bridge up to the chapel, or catch one of the buses to take you to the walkway and back.

Tortilla Flat is a small touristy place located at the historic Apache Trail. You can grab a bite at the restaurant an have a look into the museum, the gift shop and general store. There is even a post office! Many tales are told about the history of this place that is surrounded by the Superstition Mountains where people are still searching for the legendary gold of the Lost Dutchman. This trailhead is a starting point for entering the scenic Boynton Canyon and Deadman's Pass Trail. A Red Rock or America the Beautiful Pass is required. There is a vault toilet and plenty of parking; however, it is a popular location for hikers, and arriving early in the day is best.
