The Klingnau Power Plant (KRA) is a run-of-river power plant built between two banks of the Aare, between the Aargau communities of Klingnau and Koblenz. The plant was built between 1931 and 1935 about 400m above the confluence of the Aare and the Rhine.

The inland canal is an artificially constructed, almost five-kilometer-long river in the Swiss canton of Aargau and the last in a large series of tributaries of the Aare. The canal serves as a drainage and collecting canal east of the Klingnau reservoir in the communities of Döttingen and Klingnau, as well as for flood relief. It reaches the Aare in the Giriz nature reserve near Koblenz, shortly before the Aare flows into the Rhine after a 292-kilometer course. Like the inland canal near Klingnau, there is also a drainage canal on the western side of the reservoir with the water body name "Inland Canal": The Gippingen inland canal flows into an old arm of the Aare from the left about one kilometer above the Klingnau canal.

It is a quiet place on the reservoir with a chance to watch birds.

The side of the Klingnau reservoir, which is located close to Gippingen, on the left side of the lake shore, is a popular destination for many people, not just ornitologists and hobby ornitologists who walk around with their large tripods and lenses. The shore is a nature reserve and many species of birds can be seen here. The path along the shore is a popular walking path, a cycle path, paved. Even skaters don't miss out on this wonderful place. Bridge built between Döttingen and Kleindöttingen is used regularly. The power plant, on the north side of the lake, connects the two sides of the lake. The path across the power station is also very well lit at night. On the left bank, near the power plant, there is a rest and resting place with benches and a barbecue area. Many see it as a place of power. You have to bring your own wood for the grill. Also a popular area for fishermen. The joggers can also be found, since you can also do several laps around the lake.
