We drove down this stretch (L176/Eichenlaubstraße) from Cloef to Mettlach. With gradients of up to 11%, it was a blast! The cars weren't any faster.

🚴‍♀️ Saar Cycle Route – From Merzig to Saarlouis with a River View This section of the Saar Cycle Route is one of the most beautiful in Saarland: On a well-developed, mostly paved path, you cycle directly along the river – past locks, small harbors, meadows, and shady rows of trees. The route is flat, pleasantly quiet, and ideal for leisurely cyclists and touring cyclists. 🌅 Tip: Early in the morning, a fine mist often lies over the Saar, while in the late afternoon, the sun bathes everything in warm light – ideal for atmospheric breaks with a view of the water.

A little way off the cycle path you come to the jetty, from here you have a direct view of the Saar.

Difficult climb to Orscholz. Very dangerous bend on the way down to Keuchigen.
