The cathedral is a significant Neo-Romanesque landmark from the French colonial period. It was built between 1886 and 1891 and is distinguished by its striking facade and two red-brick bell towers. The building is a unique architectural work and a cultural and religious symbol of the city. The Imperial Palace is located on Phnom Penh's promenade. The king and his mother still live here today in their own residence, which is not open to visitors but is located on the grounds. The palace has several entrances: one for the king, one for state visits, and one for the general public. The buildings are breathtakingly beautiful.
