From this vantage point you have an idyllic view over the Étang de Biguglia and the mountains and villages behind it. The Écomusée du Fortin, which is located on a peninsula and extends far into the Étang, is very prominent here. Nearby you can observe flamingos, which overwinter here.

This way is beautiful - and helps to get to Bastia without a main road. The friendly gentleman at the camping reception told us to simply ignore the red cycle path signs everywhere...

The much better alternative to the main road - even if you have to push 10-20m through the sand.

We drove the route on a Saturday as the end of a long mountain tour. The road is very busy and the sidewalk is not a real option as it has not been cleared. You also don't see much of the landscape / sea / lagoon. I find the section disappointing, you mostly drive along the tall reed grasses.

At the Route de la Lagune a bike path runs parallel to the road. You can reach the sea via any of the main roads, if necessary via a campsite.
