Very nice alternative route to Arles. Very easy to ride on a trekking bike with a lot of luggage.

Basically easy route for a gravel bike, but the many water-filled potholes make it challenging in parts.

This alternative route from Saintes-Maries-de-la-mer to Arles is very worthwhile. You drive through the middle of the Camargue and get an idea of this stretch of land between sea and land. The road is very well paved with natural pavement. I drove it after a very rainy storm, it wasn't a problem. Every now and then slalom around the puddles, but no mud.
