The name "Zur Rennbahn" has its origins in the "Stover Race", a trotting and gallop race that takes place outside the dike once a year on the last weekend in July. The organizer is the Stover Rennverein von 1874 e.V., which has organized the race every year since it was founded with great success. The sails of the smock mill in Stove on the Boiensdorfer Werder peninsula were visible from afar. This over one-hundred-year-old "old lady" of windmilling is a technical monument, unfortunately no longer fully functional, where one could experience true engineering, craftsmanship, and tradition firsthand.
