While not all parts of Lauchröden are worth exploring, the church still exudes a very historic atmosphere. There's also an information board there, but unfortunately, the church isn't open to the public.

Neustädt is located on the left bank of the Werra, about 4 kilometers northeast of Gerstungen, and borders directly on Hesse. The name Neustädt is probably due to the relatively "young" history of the place. In a document from 1317, it is called "Nuweste", or New Site. Due to the increase in population, land was obviously allocated to farmers so that they could make it usable by clearing it.

In the course of renovation measures carried out since 1980, of which there were few that preserved the originality of the building, the original floor plan was regained within the building by removing later fixtures. By repairing the dilapidated outbuildings, the historic complex as a whole was preserved as much as possible. The careful design of the small park increases the picturesque appeal of Nesselröden Castle and its importance as a cultural monument.
