A detour from the main Könkään keino Trail loop is worth it to enjoy the spectacle of the Kiutaköngäs Rapids. The Oulankajoki River is a fine companion for any run in this superb part of the Oulanka National Park.

The cabin can accommodate up to twelve people and is located on the banks of the Kitkajoki river and the Karhunkierros and Pieni Karhunkierros trails. In the cabin you will find sleeping platforms, a stove, a gas cooker and a dry toilet 50 meters away. Please note that there are no trash cans, so please take your trash with you. The nearest disposal point can be found on the trail between Myllykoski and Jyrävä.

Here, a long suspension bridge leads over the Harrisuvanto River. The water here is usually as smooth as glass. It is best to walk across it one at a time, otherwise it becomes narrow and wobbly.

It is definitely worth making the little detour to the waterfall. The beautifully situated Jyräva waterfall finds its way through the canyon here.

Very nice place near the Harrisuvanto shelter. Here I could pitch my tent and enjoy the peace at the water. The mist that came up in the evening above the water and under the suspension bridge made it even more beautiful.

The river Kitkajoki rushes impressively down a small cascade as Jyrävä Falls. A short side trail gets you closer to the water.
