On this tour, guests will be guided through many of these rose gardens. One of them is the fragrant rose garden in the heart of the city: Here, over 1,500 special roses bloom with 75 different scents. Some smell of honey, others of pears, and still others of lemons. A small sign with each rose's name in standard and Braille reveals its name. Of course, this tour also ensures that as many of the other 22,500 roses in Rapperswil as possible are discovered. Rapperswil Castle Rapperswil Castle is the landmark of the picturesque rose town on Lake Zurich. The castle, built at the beginning of the 13th century and later remodeled several times, can be seen from afar. It sits majestically above the town on the Lindenhof, a ridge that runs through Rapperswil. The renovated castle offers an atmospheric tour and takes visitors on a fascinating journey through its history. A highlight for children is sure to be the northern slope of the castle hill, where fallow deer have lived since 1871, a reminder of the legend of the town's founding. Just below the deer park, various play elements, such as a climbing wall and a speaking tube, invite children to play and let off steam. The exhibition inside the castle is open to visitors. In addition, the castle tower offers breathtaking views of the town and the lake.
