Small hut with great view over the valley

Beautifully situated hut below the summit. Part of the terrace is already in the Czech Republic.

Mountain rescue hut on the climb to the Osserschutzhaus.

A beautiful hiking area around Ossergipfel and Osserwiese, here you have a wonderful view of the Lamer Winkel and the mountains of the Bavarian Forest. The Osser viewing mountain is known for the fantastic 360 degree view of the Czech Republic, the Bohemian Forest, the nearby Arber and Hoher Bogen mountains, and if the visibility is good, even as far as the Alps.

The Künic Mountains rise up between Zwercheck and the Osser massif. Not only does the national border between Germany and the Czech Republic run over this ridge, we also find one of the most impressive activities in the Bavarian Forest on this line: the hike from Zwercheck to Osser. Anyone who has ever viewed the ridge of the Künic Mountains from the neighborhood (e.g. from the Großer Arber) should be aware that this hike is not for the lazy. There is a distance of 5.5 km between the two elevations. Ascent and descent as well as the return march to the starting point are added. There is also a small material cable car at the mountain rescue hut. The supply route of the Osserschutzhaus is only possible up to the mountain rescue hut. This is where the goods are loaded onto the cable car accordingly.

Strenuous to walk through the many chaotically jumbled stones and roots ... but there are always grandiose views.
