Amateur meeting for mtb and ebike which takes place on the last Sunday of October each year on tracks in the Sassovivo di Foligno Abbey area. Maniacally maintained paths and top-level organisation!

This is an awsome peaceful place. I simply love the mutliple places to relax and find peace. It is spiritual and religiouse in the most positive sense.

Dating back to the 11th century, unfortunately the Crypt is rather run down and unusable due to the risk of collapse of the structure and water infiltration; however, the area has always been a meeting point for Foligno as in the area you can take pleasant walks (walk of the friars) and because near the Crypt there is a much appreciated spring

One of the most comfortable and pleasant trails in the area, a slalom between holm oaks and a long, flat single track up to the Abbey of Sassovivo

Single track quite smooth downhill and not particularly demanding on short uphill stretches, on the occasion when I took photos with the snow I noticed many wolf footprints

Although the Italian region of Umbria is usually first associated with Saint Francis of Assisi, there are of course also monasteries from other religious communities. For example, here in the Abbazia de Sassovivo, the Benedictines are committed to the rule of St. Benedict of Nursia (very often shortened to the common saying "ora et labora" ("pray and work")).
