The Fonte Avellana Monastery has 1000 years of history, Dante also wrote about it in the XXI canto of Paradise, and you can breathe the spirituality of the monks' activity and the surrounding nature. I recommend staying, to enjoy it in the evening and in the morning when there are no tourists.

Stunning landscape, it doesn't even seem like we're in Italy... It reminds me of Mongolia. Especially when wild horses graze nearby. If Monte Strega has a certain charm, well I'd say the ridge from Strega to Monte Cilio is certainly no less fascinating! Definitely in the top spots in my ranking.

From here the real ascent of Monte Catria begins, a little more and you will be at the top

The view when you reach the summit is not surprising, because the summit cross - which seems almost gigantic and can therefore be seen from afar - crowns Monte CATRIA and is unmistakable. But despite its enormous mass, the cross erected here does not seem overwhelming at all; in fact, due to the steel framework construction (the most famous example of which is the Eiffel Tower in Paris), it appears almost delicate.

The Burano river between Cagli and Cantiano.

This stretch of road follows the route of the ancient Via Flaminia and connects the towns of Cagli and Cantiano through the narrow Burano valley. The road has little traffic thanks to the construction of the new state road that runs parallel. The gorge carved out over time by the watercourse is spectacular and evocative.
