Very beautiful monument this Gothic Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame de Mantes-la-Jolie

The Grim Reaper fountain stands in the middle of the forge square. The fountain pays homage to the village's agricultural past and is topped by a fully gilded figure with a scythe. This reaper, the work of Sylvain Kingsburger, was built at the end of the 19th century, and the current fountain bowl was installed around this time. Today, the fountain stands in the heart of a pretty, lively square, where you can find a few terraces on fine days.

Jacques-Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque was a French general who commanded various units in Africa, Europe and Asia during World War II. He was posthumously appointed Marshal of France on August 23, 1952.

The church of Saint-Leu-Saint-Gilles was built in the town centre of Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, Rue du Général-Leclerc, at the corner of Rue de l'Église. The main façade, facing south-west and a small square at the beginning of Avenue de la Gare, is the only façade with ornaments; the other walls overlook alleys or private properties. A large portal with a semicircular archivolt and a tympanum decorated with mosaic gives access to the nave. Smaller portals flank this main portal on either side and open onto the side aisles. The upper part of the façade of the nave, with its pediment, is decorated with five semicircular arches, the three in the centre of which have windows.

Strange Architecture, really worth discovering.

Élisabethville, once a holiday resort, is today a residential town located in the Yvelines department (France), straddling the communes of Aubergenville and Épône. Created in 1928, it has about 4,000 inhabitants. One of the most remarkable buildings is the Sainte-Thérèse-de-l'Enfant-Jésus church, a reinforced concrete construction with sculptures in the concrete in setting dating from 1928, the work of the architect Paul Tournon and the sculptor Carlo Sarrabezolles

Formerly a wine-growing village and the summer resort of the Lords of Montmorency and of Louis Bonaparte, the King of Holland and his wife, Queen Hortense.
