The Torre Troiana was built in the 13th century and is 44 meters high. It has a square base measuring 5.90 meters on each side and a narrow, curved dome. To visit, you must purchase a ticket for €10 at the tourist office. This ticket allows access to five attractions; you cannot purchase a ticket at the tower itself.

The Covered Market of Asti is a facility located just steps from Asti's central square and houses a permanent market. Here you'll find a variety of fresh produce, including meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, bread, and other groceries. It's an ideal place for shopping, even in bad weather, as it's completely covered. The building dates back to 1925 and represents an important part of Asti's commercial tradition.

Divided into three naves by twelve pillars supporting arches and cross vaults on a Latin cross plan, the church contains works of great artistic value by painters of the 16th and 17th centuries. Of note are the carved choir and wooden lectern, commissioned by Bishop Innocenzo Migliavacca at the end of the 17th century. At the end of the nave is the Chapel of San Secondo, built between 1772 and 1789 to a design by Bernardo Antonio Vittone.

Located on the edge of the old city, this area represents an eloquent example of 19th-century urban planning and architecture. Piazza Alfieri (or Piazza del Palio) is surrounded by porticoed buildings and in its center stands the Monument to Vittorio Alfieri (1862) by Giuseppe Dini. It is also the place where the Palio di Asti takes place every third Sunday of September.

An important thoroughfare that flows into Corso Casale and runs parallel to Corso Alessandria. It is the starting and ending point of my walks.

And that's exactly right. Via Garetti is home to many small clubs and restaurants that liven up the evenings of the historic center throughout the year. It is located in the heart of the city and in the San Secondo district.

A beautiful place. One of those "of the heart" for me. The viewpoint of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II on the Val Tiglione and the surrounding towns clearly visible on clear days. There is a charging station for e-bikes and wooden tables with benches on site, perfect for taking a break. Magnificent!
