The natural oasis Torre Guaceto stands for beautiful sea and lots of nature. The landmark is this Aragonese tower Torre Guaceto

The Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, together with the Marine Protected Area, are one of the most beautiful protected areas in Puglia.

Inside the Torre Guaceto nature reserve there is the sandy beach of Penna Grossa, the only beach in the reserve. It can be accessed from the Penna Grossa road which leads to the free beach. Excellent for a stop and relaxation.

Reserve has limited areas for bikers. Scenic with variety of flora.Three bike trails lead to sea. Many more bike trails west of freeway with two passages under the freeway to reach east or west lands Most west trails are packed dirt so avoid wet weather. No stores for food or water. Road from Brindisi along Adriatic is good paved and scenic with several interesting parks, beaches,coves. Light vehicle traffic for the 16 k to Reserve.

Service road system that runs alongside the state road 379 through the Torre Guaceto State Nature Reserve, and which allows you not to pedal along the road prohibited for bicycles. To reach the sea, the beaches and the tower inside the Reserve, the roads are all gravel or dirt roads, not very suitable for racing bikes.

Protected marine area, protected by the WWF, which occupies a stretch of coastline that goes from Punta Penna Grossa to the Apani rocks. For several years this area has been considered protected for its naturalistic interest: fauna and flora, in fact, are preserved here through the work carried out by the consortium that manages the oasis. In particular, the sandy bottoms and marine flora form an ecosystem in perfect balance, which allows the proliferation of animal species. The area is so called due to the presence of a tower built in the sixteenth century by the Aragonese.
