볼프스부르크의 "마르크트 광장"이라고 하면 보통 라트하우스 광장(라트하우스마르크트라고도 함)을 의미합니다. 볼프스부르크는 1938년에 설립된 젊은 도시이기 때문에 중세 시대의 마르크트 광장은 없고 포르셰슈트라세 바로 옆에 현대적이고 광범위한 중심지가 있습니다.

The cultural center was designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and inaugurated in 1962. The building is a listed historical monument and is considered a complete work of art, as even details such as furniture, lamps, and door handles were designed by Aalto. The city's wine shop is currently located next to the library.

The gnarled Hangman's Oak is a solitary tree in the Wolfsburg city forest, designated as a natural monument. Many myths surround the tree, which is supposedly evidence of medieval settlements around the present-day city area.

At Stemmelteich, you can enjoy the tranquility of the forest. This artificial lake, designed as a rainwater retention basin, is part of the city's drainage system. Along the banks of this pond, which is about the size of a football field, you'll find benches for quiet reflection.

Klieverhagen is a light-filled beech forest on limestone in the heart of Wolfsburg. Numerous paths for walkers and mountain bikers wind through this recreational area. The geological trail offers fascinating insights into the region's geological history. The fitness trail, established in 2025, also provides recreational athletes with an excellent opportunity to exercise outdoors.

West of Wolfsburg's city center rises the Klieversberg, a hill approximately 110 meters high. From here, you have a fantastic panoramic view of the Bürgerpark (city park), the planetarium, and the Volkswagen plant in the distance. The hill is easily accessible via simple park paths. The Porschehütte (Porsche Hut), animal enclosure, war memorial, and one-man bunker are located nearby and offer an interesting glimpse into the history of this planned city.

The Wolfsburg Planetarium is located at the foot of Klieversberg hill in the Bürgerpark (Citizens' Park). After Volkswagen presented the city of Wolfsburg with a Zeiss star projector for its anniversary in 1978, the construction of the planetarium with its 15-meter-high dome was commissioned. The celestial machine, which features stargazing expeditions as well as science and music programs, can accommodate approximately 140 visitors.

The pedestrian zone begins – this is where car traffic ends and the highlight begins. Unmistakably spectacular: a crossing that the Komoot map already recognizes, but now marked with a red dot and likes. Ideally, there would also be a "Beginning of the pedestrian zone" marker at the other end – and, to complete the picture, a "End of the pedestrian zone" marker at each end. Then the entire street section is marked four times: mundane in reality, but impossible to miss on Komoot.
