A lovely rest area at the narrow point between Höftsee and Behler See... Just sit down and let nature work its magic.

A pleasant lakeside path with beautiful views of the large Plön Lake and the nearby island of Olsburg.

On the mirror-like surface of the lake, the shadows of the trees danced, while on the opposite shore, the first lights of the houses twinkled like tiny stars. A rowboat, moored all day, rocked almost imperceptibly. In that moment, time seemed to stand still, and the Dieksee became the perfect place to let the day end in peaceful serenity.

Swimming area on the Großer Plöner See (Great Plön Lake) with a sandy beach, playground, and sunbathing lawn. The long, sandy beach is the ideal swimming spot for families. A sunbathing lawn, benches, a hammock, a slide, mini-golf, and a small playground invite you to linger. The water is gently sloping and marked with a non-swimmer's boundary. Shady spots and a jetty into the water are available, as are changing facilities and restrooms.

A very beautiful building.

The redwashed Riding House was built in 1746 by order of Frederick Carl, Duke of Plön, who used it as a venue for festive equestrian demonstrations. After the Duke's death, the building was used as a horse stable, carriage house, and garrison kitchen. During the Imperial era, the central gable was fitted with a clock, which gave the building its current name. With the construction of apartments for officers of the cadet school, the original hall structure was lost. Despite the historic preservation status of the entire palace grounds, the Clock House was run down to the point of collapse. In 1996, the Marius Böger Foundation took over and renovated it. The stables were built in the 18th century by the then duke as a representative building with a symbolic sculpture group above the main entrance for horse breeding. During its heyday under Duke Friedrich Karl from 1729 to 1761, the palace grounds around the riding arena were expanded to include the stables and riding house. The outbuildings on the riding arena, which had previously served as a tournament and parade ground, burned down in 1745 and were immediately replaced by new buildings. Plön court chroniclers recount with horror how the palace's farmyard was destroyed by flames in a major fire on March 4, 1745. In the following years, the duke transformed the area into a Baroque riding arena with stables and riding house. To house his breeding horses, Duke Friedrich Carl had the 57.5-meter-long stables built as his first building between 1745 and 1746, according to plans by Johann Gottfried Rosenberg.
