It preserves, however, interesting monuments such as the Castle, the Church of La Encarnación, the Hermitage of Nuestro Padre Jesús, the Hermitage of Santo Cristo, the Hermitage of La Soledad and the Hermitage of San Juan.

This square erected as a faithful reflection of the twinning between Bailén and the Greek city of Spetses, turns out to be a symbol of the town that shows the unity between towns.

Located in the vicinity of the Bailén cemetery we find this oratory, whose antiquity is divided into two time periods coinciding with the styles that would segment the temple.

It was created in memory of the battles of Las Navas de Tolosa and Bailén, very important in the history of Spain and which took place in the limits of the province of Jaén. Due to its importance, this sculpture is located in the Plaza de las Batallas.

In 1933 this well-known park was built in a contemporary style and known as Paseo de las Palmeras. The initiative arises from the then mayor D. Cristóbal Marín Ruíz Castellanos to alleviate existing unemployment in the town, in which the allegorical Monument to the Battle of Bailén would be installed, escorted by 77 palm trees. The work was projected by the architect Mr. Vicente Sánchez Andújar and Mr. Antonio Rivas at the end of the eighties.

At present, the museographic collection of the Museo de la Batalla de Bailén is made up of objects of a historical, artistic, archaeological, bibliographical and documentary nature.

It was built in the 19th century, close to the house where the heroine of Bailén, María Bellido, lived. In the mid-20th century, it was remodeled to become the roundabout that we can admire today, where we find a fountain with the painting of the patron saint on top and surrounded by small garden areas. This place turns out to be a privileged location to admire some steps of the Holy Week of Bailén

It currently receives the name of Plaza General Castaños in honor of the General who defeated the Napoleonic troops, Francisco Javier Castaños y Aragorri – first Duke of Bailén, and is popularly known as El Paseo; name that refers to those afternoons in which the young people of Bailén walked through the square where they hoped to find their first love.
