오스트리아의 도나우 자전거 도로는 유럽 자전거 도로 인프라의 „골든 스탠다드“라고 할 수 있습니다. 유럽 유로벨로 루트 6의 일부이기 때문에 표지판이 매우 잘 되어 있지만, 처음에는 다양한 로고 때문에 다소 복잡해 보일 수 있습니다. 다리나 발전소 근처에는 „도나우 횡단“이라는 특별 표지판이 있어, 경로가 더 아름답거나 짧은 경우 반대편으로 가는 방법을 알려줍니다.

From the banks of the Danube, you can enjoy a view of the Abwinden-Asten power plant, one of the largest run-of-river power plants in Austria. The facility extends over 252 meters and consists of nine Kaplan bulb turbines with a total output of 168 MW. The low-rise design of the powerhouse, which blends seamlessly into the surroundings, is particularly striking. A cycling path runs directly past the power plant, offering both close-up views and photo opportunities. For nature lovers, the fish bypass, opened in 2020, is a highlight, as it allows fish safe passage upstream and supports the ecological sustainability of the power plant. The surroundings along the banks of the Danube are particularly attractive for cyclists who want to enjoy the combination of technology, landscape, and nature.
