The new panoramic train runs between Interlaken and Montreux up to four times a day and offers uninterrupted views of the breathtaking panorama. World-famous places, three regions The journey on the GoldenPass Express is like a foray through Switzerland. The route begins in picturesque Interlaken and leads via Gstaad, Château-d’Oex and Montbovon to Montreux, the end point of the journey. Of course, you can also start your journey in Montreux. Interlaken is the starting point for many leisure activities and impresses with a unique view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The upscale town of Gstaad with its pretty chalets is not only popular with winter sports enthusiasts, stars and starlets are also happy to visit here. In Château-d’Oex, if you're lucky, you can see a hot air balloon rising, while Montreux is the venue for the annual Montreux Jazz Festival. Swissness The GoldenPass Express is not only a world first, but also a Swiss masterpiece. The idea of connecting Interlaken and Montreux without changing trains was born more than 100 years ago. However, the plan failed due to the different track widths of the respective sections of the route. But this seemingly insurmountable challenge has now been solved by an ingenious invention: a variable bogie.
