From Falun, we cycled to Sundborn. The road climbed only on paved roads (Lugnet) and descended hilly to Sundborn. There was a bit of loose gravel on the road. We saw very few cars along the way. It was a beautiful route with close proximity to nature.

30-mile bike ride – Grand Canyon:ON 7 Started in Sundborn and rolled towards Falun. Once there, I turned towards Skuggarvet, where the road became bumpy and more technical. The uphills were tough, but the bike provided good grip and cushioning. The last bit home flowed nicely – a perfect mix of speed and nature!

This little hut had been made since the mine was still active. A person needs to stay here all night to keep fire going for the mine. Inside the hut has so many things from very old time! Memorial items from visitors. Sun spot for fika and fire logs for visitors to make fire 🔥

You can walk off the horse path down to this point easily. It is downhill with lot of vegetations so good hiking boots are recommended but not necessary. The path seems popular among kids and probably animals as well. The view is nice but no rocks to sit or no space for a fire 🔥

Clear path for walking, riding and pick blueberries 🫐 Many people use this path for a run or dog walking. No noise from the roads.

The routes in Falun Lugnet are very nice. The routes are interesting and technical (cross-country) in a very beautiful environment. There are a few choices, from an easy green line to a hard black line. You can combine a few of these options, so if for example you discover that black is a bit too much for you, you can switch to the red route. At the end you can choose some more downhill-focussed lines to end your ride on a blast. If you want you can walk back up and session those lines. Have fun!
