On a meadow (main street) there is an oversized seesaw on a 7 meter high mast: on one side is the body of an old VW Beetle, on the other side its engine and gearbox. The wind drives both gently rocking around in circles. And has been doing so since 2008. As part of an international sculpture exhibition by "Artemedia", the metal sculptor Herbert Kruft (his sculpture park in Niederprüm is always worth a visit!) installed the flying beetle at the entrance to Buchet. And there it still spins in the wind today, visible from afar, and causes astonished faces.

Schlausenbach is a part of the municipality of Auw near Prüm in the Bitburg-Prüm district in Rhineland-Palatinate. Schlausenbach is located in the West Eifel on the north-west edge of the Schneifel. It is located 2.4 km south-east of the center of Auw and 3 km (in each case as the crow flies) north of the Black Man, to which the landscape rises when viewed from Schlausenbach. One of the highest tributaries of the Auw, the Schlausenbach, flows through the village. The place was first mentioned in the year 1000. On January 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Schlausenbach, which had 134 inhabitants at the time, was incorporated into Auw near Prüm. On June 10, 2003, the community of Schlausenbach was hit by a tornado and there was a lot of property damage. Around 30 buildings were affected. The tornado also destroyed around 40 hectares of forest. The Catholic branch church Sankt Eligius is on the main street. It is a hall church with a three-sided chancel from 1658. The columned altar was made in 1713 by Caspar Helfen from Prüm. The Görreshof is also known in Schlausenbach. This is a former bakehouse with a smithy from the second half of the 18th century. It is well worth making a detour here, as it is not often that such beeches grow. Unfortunately there was a beetle incident there, so the Krausbuch is now in a clearing and no longer so hidden in the forest. Those who are geocachers should definitely make the cashes nearby.
