As always, the image is painstakingly handcrafted from seeds and flower petals of various sizes and colors. It takes many hands and even more weeks to complete such a work of art. The basic motif of the image is "trust," as the diocese wrote in a press release. The richly detailed, colorful motif depicts a sky that bodes ill, a boat with frightened people on a stormy sea, and Jesus calming the sea with his outstretched hand. The Bible describes how Jesus threatens the wind and commands the sea to be calm. The image is entirely dedicated to trust. In addition to maintaining the building and covering costs, the proceeds from raffles and donations support non-profit, social, cultural, and charitable projects.
