A very beautiful church at the crossroads to Ronco/Ascona. Note: This is a very challenging climb for a 2-wheel road bike, especially before Intragna. The road bike route via Losone Tegna is easier :-)

The Sacro Monte consists of the pilgrimage church of Santa Maria Addolorata and the Way of the Cross that leads up to it from Brissago. A.F. Branca, the owner of the Palazzo Branca (now Baccalà) in the center of the village, had an earlier church expanded between 1767 and 1773. The path to the Sacro Monte, surrounded by forest, is still very impressive, even though the place has lost its wild, dramatic character of earlier times.

The parish church of Auressio, dedicated to St. Anthony the Abbot, dates back to the 16th century and was rebuilt and enlarged in the 18th century. The bell tower dates from 1775.
